A day like… last year !.
The 2023 Burn off the Turkey 5k
Its back to Reality for 2023 !! The annual St Stephens day virtual walk / run is being replaced this year with the first edition of the Newport AC burn off the turkey 5k.
This will be the first “mass participation event”. Everybody will start together at the Boys National School and complete the 5k Walk / Run, finishing on our brand new track.
We have a new format every year and 2023 is no different. Newport Community Project will be the beneficiary again, and the much-needed funds we raise are helping pay down some of the outstanding debt from our recent development.

Register, put the runners on and show up on the day.
Whats New
2023 will also see our inaugural “the longest meter” soccer match. Two teams will go head to head on our new pitch directly after the 5k. This will be a real battle at the border. We have one team being managed and selected by Spud Landers, with his opponents being managed and selected by Richie Ryan.
Team selections here should be very interesting. Player profiles from both sides will be going out on social media.
Half time in the match will see the launch of our major fundraiser for 2024. Information will be given out on how you can become a patron at our new facility, buy a meter of surface anytime during 2024 and have your name, family name, a name in memory, or even your pets name on our patrons wall at the entrance to the facility.
We are looking for as many families & individuals to get out on our 5k route this year, after the walk / run you can then enjoy mulled wine with entertainment for adults and kids while watching the match.
Grab the dog, the husbands, the kids, get out there for a great local cause.
